In the period April 12-17, 2008 the FAS Russia delegation headed by the Stats-Secretary, Deputy Head of the FAS Russia Mr. Andrey Tsarikovskiy visited Kyoto (Japan) for participation in the 7th Annual Conference of the International Competition Network (ICN) organized by the Fair Trade Commission of Japan.
At the Conference the Head and the members of the delegation made presentations at the Session of the Cartels Working Group, Competition Policy Implementation Working Group, Unilateral Conduct Working Group and at the Session on the «Abuse of dominant position».
Besides, during the Conference the negotiations with the high-level officials of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the US Department of Justice Antitrust Division, the US Federal Trade Commission, the Office for the Protection of Competition of Czech Republic, the Competition Authority of Mexico was held. At the negotiations the Parties discussed the prospective of bilateral cooperation in competition policy sphere as well as issues of common interest.
Furthermore, Mr. Andrey Tsarikovskiy was interviewed by the «Global Competition Review».
Moreover, the Head of the FAS Russia' delegation took part in the meeting of the ICN Steering Group where a decision on the creation of the ICN Working Group on Competition Advocacy was taken. The FAS Russia will act as a Co-Chair of the given Working Group.
